Photo Project «Beyond the Event Horizon»
At the beginning of my hiking journey, there was no outdoor community around me, finding information was difficult, and this blog was created to fill that void. Today, the outdoors is my passion, work, and life, with a whole community of backpackers traveling the world around me. In my trek reports, I try to share as much practical information as possible, but every journey begins with an emotion. An emotion sparked by a random photo in a feed or a story that resonated so deeply it became the starting point to learn everything about a place and eventually travel there. This project aims to capture those emotions in photographs to inspire people to explore new places.
- Location: Iceland. Flight Moscow — Reykjavik. From Reykjavik, a bus from City Center to the Landmannalaugar valley (5,000 RUB one way).
- Best time to visit: July, August.
- Route highlight: The wonders of Iceland: fumaroles, canyons, waterfalls, and volcanic landscapes.
- Why here: For anyone who doesn't mind chilly weather, this destination offers maximum safety: low crime rate, no large predators, and no biting insects.
- Tip for those retracing the route: One of the main tips for the Laugavegur trail is not to hesitate to plan it relying on others. It is an extremely safe route with passive safety, clear trail markings, and convenient campsites.
- Trail story: While hiking in the local mountains near the town of Vík once, I spotted a sheep that had climbed into a spot it couldn't get down from. Wonder how it's doing)) Perhaps it finally took a leap of faith.
